Covid-19 Risk & Control Measures

Track and Trace:

All students will be asked to pre-register for class and provide up-to-date contact details in case track and trace needs to be implemented. Class numbers will be dictated by the size of the hall and the need to socially distance. Class spots will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis, with a percentage of spaces being reserved for new and returning students. We ask that if you can not attend you let us know ASAP to free up your slot. Students will be advised that they can attend 48 hours prior to class start time, unless a spot becomes available last-minute due to cancellation.

Attire:

We would ask you to arrive ready to train in your Dobok/training attire to avoid the use of the changing facilities.

Arriving:

Students are to wait in turn outside and enter one at a time (except from same household)
Students to wait in turn outside and enter. Upon entering Do-Jang (training hall), students will be allocated to their floor spot. Initial socialising will be permitted but no socialising inside 2 metres (except those from same household)

Toilets:

Although use of the toilet is permitted, we would like to limit its usage during the class to a minimum.

We must request that all students use the toilet before arriving at the training hall. Or, in the case of younger students, we request that parents ensure children use the toilet before arriving at the training hall. Any student who uses the toilet will be asked to sanitise the flush handle and sink taps (sanitiser and antibacterial wipes will be provided).

Class Size:
May need to be limited to ensure students have plenty of space in accordance with current social distancing guidelines. Pre-booking to attend classes will be implemented to help us manage this.

Masks:

Due to the high risk of hypoxia (lack of oxygen in blood) & respiratory acidosis (breathing too much carbon dioxide), the wearing of masks while training is not recommended and poses a health risk. We will not require students to wear masks while training but we would encourage students to wear them traveling to and from class.

Warm-up:
At least 2 metres between each member (except from same household). Space guidance: Front, Sides & Behind allowing an average of around 10ft x 10ft space each. Stretching and working singularly is permitted (except from same household).

Basic Technique and Patterns:
Permitted singularly while maintaining 2 metre distancing - except from same household.

Free Sparring, Pre-arranged Sparring and Self-Defence:
Not currently permitted - except from same household.

Breaking:
Only permitted singularly. Students will be asked to sanitise boards after use.

Pads:

(Paddles/Pads etc) Only permitted singularly (except from same household). Pads will be allocated to students and will not be shared. Apparatus will be used to support pads due to 2 metre distancing. (All equipment will be sanitised prior to every class).

Gradings:
These can continue to take place & will be adjusted to suit the rules.

Congregation:

Parents will not be permitted to congregate prior to collecting their children. Children will be leaving one at a time only when they identify and see their Parents or Guardian in the waiting Car Park. Adult students will be asked not to congregate and chat but to vacate the hall maintaining social distance guidelines.

Covid-19 Symptoms: We respectfully ask that ANY student who shows ANY signs or symptoms of Covid-19 does not attend class.
